Hotel in Old Town, Edinburgh
BrewDog DogHouse Edinburgh features free bikes, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Edinburgh. One of the coolest hotels we've ever stayed in. The room was lovely and big, the staff were amazing and the breakfast was wonderful (lots of calories though 😄). Surprisingly, the hotel itself (rooms & lounge) was very quiet although the restaurant and bar were always hectic with lots of happy people🍺. Great stay overall!

An absolute joy to stay at the Craigie Hotel. From check in over the facilities of the bedroom, bathroom, its cleanliness, the enjoyable bar, the food in their restaurant, culinary surprises at breakfast... All personnel working for this hotel, along with the boss, seem to be trained to drown all customers into a warm bath of being completely spoiled. What surprised us even more was that post check-out, when we were on the way home, we were called by the hotel to let us know that our daughter forgot her teddy in the bed. It would have been an absolute disaster only discovering this when we would have been at home. This proves that even post check-out (and after all was paid for), we had the feeling of being taken care of. Just wonderful.

Town centre although small had plenty of eating places. Nice walks. Lots of pubs. Only downfall was weather however it is nearing the end of winter and we're in Scotland😱
Dinnet and our accommodations were spectacular. Our hosts could not have been nicer, and the place could not have been more of a surprise. We arrived in Scotland without a lot of advanced planning and discovered that it was festival time, so there were sparse accommodations available throughout the northern part of the country. We stumbled upon this place while at the tourist information bureau in Edinburgh and it could not have worked out better. It was in the beautiful Cairgorns National Park, and the local food and scenery were both wonderful.
Lovely little town. Lots of little shops and pubs. Lovely little park. Great jumping off spot for the area. Some of the prettiest scenery we have seen in Scotland.
Away from the bustle of city life, Stirling brings happiness as soon as one drives in. The memorial and castle recapitulate the histories of Scotland, Englaind and even India! The Wallace monument and Stirling castle are a must to visit. But never in a hurry. Stirling is not a check-off box - it is an experience.
The town has clearly suffered since it was abandoned by the Stena ferry service in 2011. But it's in a beautiful location in a quiet and really under rated part of Scotland. Recommended as a base for visiting Galloway
Beautiful area. Mountains and sea create a very unique spot on earth. A bit of a drive to get to this remote town, but well worth the effort. This is a must see area for those who really want to see the beauty and ruggedness of "wild" Scotland.
Small quaint village in a beautiful setting about 30 min from Portree. Great location for easily enjoying beautiful sights and hikes in this part of the Isle of Skye. We highly recommend renting a vehicle like the. Volvo X Country or a Land Rover for travel to this part of Scotland. And w/auto transmission as well esp. if you usually drive on the RT hand side of the road!! Narrow two way as well as one lane roads are the norm. Very doable if you are patient and rested!! We enjoyed it here very much and you do get accustomed to the roads.
A few of the activities we considered weren't available to us with our daughter- 7 years old or less than 100 lbs. We did enjoy the gandola on Ben Nevis though:) I wish we had discovered to National Trus of Scotland a little sooner, but we got to enjoy the village walk before having to leave. The walk near the Inn Restaurant on the other side of the loch was perfectly serene.
The locals are just really nice, friendly and their patriotism to Scotland is just fascinating in a very good way. There are few nice bars around the area and if you go there please do no drink beer! Try an authentic Scottish whisky! I promise you that you will not regret it!
Aberdeen is a great introduction to Scotland. The airport is small and easy to reach. We took car tours to visit numerous castles, the Highlands, Loch Ness, distilleries. The train network gets you to other major cities (Edinburgh, Glasgow). Golfers will love the location. People are so friendly, great dining and shopping options, and wonderful parks and coastal communities for walking.
We stayed at the Highland Bridge Hotel just two days after the Pub downstairs was opened. We really enjoyed our time there, as we had the opportunity to chat to locals and have a few drinks with them. It is a 20-30 minute drive to Fort William but if it is food you crave there are a few restaurants nearby. The rooms where nice and clean and the beds were REALLY comfy. Breakfast was delicious as well. Andre and his team were all really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely go back there the next time we visit Scotland!!
This is my second stay in this hotel and I loved it. The hotel location is very close to the Royal Mile and on the famous Victoria Street. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Cullen from the concierge arranged for us a wonderful tour with an excellent guide to visit the famous Scottish Highlands and we enjoyed every moment. The restaurant hostess , Manuela, is a very cheerful lady you should meet every morning for breakfast. Overall, When we return back to Scotland again we will be staying at the same hotel again
Lerwick
I stayed at Craigielea Apartment 3 for 5 nights with my husband and dog. It was a perfect base for exploring Shetland and conveniently located close to the ferry terminal, shops and restaurants in Lerwick. Lerwick is a lovely town - one of the prettiest and most charming in Scotland. The apartment is really stylish, comfortable and well-equipped. It’s also super cosy, if the weather takes a turn for the worst outside. I can’t recommend the place more highly. The owners were lovely too, very helpful and friendly.
Hotel is very close to the airport. Front desk will contact a reliable cab service that will show up at 3am to accommodate your unreasonable early flight home. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large. Bathrooms first class. We also booked this hotel as our landing place for our inbound international flight to Scotland. Our advice is to call Renfrewshire Cabs yourself 0141 887 7770 for both ends of your trip - there is a back route to and from the airport, and thee guys know it.
The view from the room was wonderful, staff was friendly and helpful, the dinner was very good and the hot tub an awesome bonus. The bus stops right in front of the property which made it super easy for us to get to and depart from Glencoe. The Hotel is a great starting place for hikes around the area. The restaurant had hands down the best food on our Scotland trip and the staff was very lovely. Breakfast was alright and offered good choices, best part lake views during all meals.
I liked everything about the Firth. Location was excellent, my room had a wonderful view over the beach, the staff were polite & friendly, & very accommodating to my needs as i have a medical need, they listened to what kind of foods that i could & couldn't eat, & amended the menu for me with no problems at all. I would highly recommend the Firth Hotel to anyone looking for a quiet & relaxing break, in a very beautiful part of Scotland.
Stornoway
One of the most beautiful stay in Scotland we have ever been. And if we could we would absolutely come back as soon as possible. The perfect location just outside the Stornoway makes it ideal place to visiting LaH. Apartment was soo clean, cosy and perfect for living. We could imagine to live here permanentely. Big thanks belongs to owner, she left for us some welcome pack which was sweet! Really big thank you for everything. Hope we could get back soon! ♥
Edinburgh
This apartment is in an excellent location in Edinburgh. Within walking distance for everything you may want to do. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. The staff in the main office were very friendly and let us store our luggage since we arrived early. Although not a big deal for us, be mindful that there is no elevator, so we had three flights of stairs to manage. We highly recommend you to stay at Destiny Scotland Hanover Apartments!
This was our second stay, breaking our journey into Highland Scotland and is ideal location just over the border and close to major routes. Hotel is small enough to be friendly but large enough to have a lovely bar and restaurant. The food is gorgeous with plenty of choice. Breakfast is also very tasty. Staff are all very friendly and can't do enough for you. We will look to spend a couple of nights here soon to explore the local area.
Delighted to enjoy 2 night stay at this family owned and run hotel. Friendly welcome from helpful and efficient staff, and great to meet the owners over a drink in lively bar on the Friday night. Breakfast outstanding, and breakfast team very efficient. Ideal for us attending a wedding at Turin Castle, and would be ideal for anyone touring this lovely part of Scotland. We will definitely return to Forfar's Royal Hotel! Thanks to all!
Very friendly and helpful and efficient staff. Special mention to 'Cat', a favourite of our dog Kevin and gave very knowledgeable and useful whisky tasting advice at the bar, brilliant! As our dog was in a stroller, the staff were very accommodating and made eating in the bar / lounge area very easy for all our meals. We would definitely stay at The Winnock Hotel again when we travel through Scotland. Thank you.
Hotel receptionist was great! Let us check our bags in early. (good to drop off our packs!) Gave us accurate info for train and bus station. Hotel is out of town with a pretty view of the water and boats. Room was clean/comfortable and had an actual fan to cool the room as it was sunny/warmer than usual in Scotland! Breakfast was ok, good coffee was welcome. Hotel is a bit of a maze, but well marked to find way around.
The Hotel had a friendly, relaxed feel to it. Our room was very clean, spacious with a wonderful view that I had requested. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Food in restaurant was delicious with excellent service. The included breakfast was also great, the only place in Scotland over a few weeks where I was offered kippers in the breakfast menu, they were truly delicious!
The house is just beautiful! The family that runs the Hotel has every single detail taken care of. A wonderful experience. We stayed here by coincidence since it was in our way back to England from our Holidays in Scotland and it couldn't have ended better. Rooms and bathroom are large, breakfast delicious. Staff super helpful and bonus: the place has a great history.
Hotel was older (as in vintage) but clean and the proprietor was incredibly nice and accommodating (no pun intended). We had a diverted flight from Ireland to Scotland and had booked a room at 2am so very inconvenient to the hotel, but not only did they get us booked in quickly, scrounged for fruit first is you ready since we were starving... Much appreciated! 👍👍👍👍
The Loch Ness Clansman Hotel was quite a pleasant experience. The food was tasty, and the service was top-notch. The impressive selection of whisky truly made me believe that Scotland is the Land of Whisky. While the rooms were on the smaller side, they were comfortable and cozy. A great stay overall. This hotel is genuinely for Loch Ness enthusiasts.
Beautiful relaxing evening after a long day travelling. Room very comfortable with easy chairs, good lighting and plenty of space. Bathroom particularly roomy. We had dinner and it was exceptional, well cooked and nicely presented. All in all a lovely stop off to start our few days holiday in Scotland. We will come back to Bridge of Cally Hotel again.
We had a great stay at Schiehallion Hotel. All members of staff were friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The room was superb. Restaurant had good quality food with great vegan options for dinner and breakfast. Aberfeldy is a lovely place with lots of local walks and very centrally located for visiting a wide area of Scotland.
Newton Stewart
Very welcoming staff in all departments, working very hard in these post 'lockdown' times. We had an evening meal on all 3 nights we stayed and were happy with the quality and price of the food. The Crown Hotel makes the ideal base for exploring The South West of Scotland. Very happy to recommend this friendly establishment.
A very cosy room, with very friendly staff and ample parking! The location is very quiet and the Hotel was excellent for catching up on some rest! It was very quiet, very clean room and not too small. The shower was amazing, and the bed was officially the best stay mattress stayed in Scotland! Will definitely stay again!
